Controlled access for communal buildings
We install and maintain audio and video entry systems, from single-door intercoms to large multi-way panels serving whole developments. Systems can call traditional handsets, video monitors or a smartphone app, so residents can answer the door from anywhere.
For staff and contractor access we install proximity fobs, keypads and networked access control such as Paxton Net2, with audit trails, time zones and instant lost-fob cancellation.
All communal access systems are interfaced to the fire alarm for fail-safe release, and we can maintain fob databases for managing agents so tenant turnover is simple.
A complete, maintained system

Panels, handsets and colour monitors for houses, blocks and mixed-use buildings.
App & GSM answering
Answer calls and release the door from a smartphone, ideal where there’s no wiring to flats.

What a door entry project covers
Installation, upgrades and ongoing management for communal entrances.
- Single and multi-way entry panels
- Video monitors, handsets and app answering
- Proximity readers, fobs and keypads
- Paxton Net2 and networked access control
- Fire alarm interface and fail-safe locks
- Trades buttons and timed access
- Fob database management for agents
- Repairs, upgrades and takeovers
Safe egress first. Communal access control is installed so that escape is never impeded, with electric locks failing safe on fire alarm activation and on power failure, and emergency door release provided in line with the fire strategy.
Where we install this
Common questions
Can you just replace a broken handset or panel?
Yes. We repair and replace individual components on most common systems (Videx, BPT, Comelit, Paxton and others) as well as installing complete new systems.
Can residents answer the door on their phone?
Yes. App-based and GSM entry systems let residents answer calls and release the door from a smartphone, useful for buildings with no riser wiring to each flat.
How do we manage fobs when tenants change?
We can hold and manage the fob database for you, cancelling lost or returned fobs and issuing new ones on request, with a full audit trail.
Does the door entry system link to the fire alarm?
Communal electric locking is interfaced with the fire alarm so doors release automatically on activation, and we fit emergency break-glass release units on escape routes.
Can you integrate access control across multiple doors and sites?
Yes. Networked systems such as Paxton Net2 let you manage many doors and multiple sites from one place, with time zones, holidays and reporting.
Often installed together
Combine access control with intruder detection for out-of-hours security.
